The european lucero ensemble was founded
by horatiu radulescu in Paris 1983.
Initially formed by internationally renowned soloists in collaboration with the
Arditti String Quartet, the flautists Pierre-Yves Artaud, Robert Aitken, Istvan
Matuz, the clarinetist Roger Heaton, the trombonists Barrie Webb, Michael Svoboda,
the cellist Jean-Paul Dessy, the viola player Vincent Royer etc, the ensemble has
been conducted by Radulescu and is devoted to the performance of his works.
It has appeared since in international festivals in Bonn, New York, Turin, London,
Frankfurt, Paris, Stuttgart, Florence, Darmstadt, Toulouse, Lisbon, Vilnius, etc
often for Radulescu Portrait Concerts. The present team is stable since 1996, and
is composed of young outstanding soloists who cover a large repertoire, from various
solo works up to large ensemble of 25 players.
From 1991 until 2001 the Ensemble was in residence at the Paris Lucero Festival,
and since 2002 works often for the International Lucero Festival and Master Classes
in Montreux, Switzerland.
